We are committed to organic, recycled and zero-waste materials. We source directly from family-owned and operated mills with sustainable and ethical standards. We prioritize biodegradable materials and avoid the term “vegan” which is often a greenwashing term for synthetics. We are committed to responsible animal agriculture of vegetarian materials like wool and wild silk.

Some of our favorite fabrics:
-
Milk Fabric
-
This fabric was developed by German microbiologist Anke Domaske. Spoiled milk from German dairy farms is spun into a silky fiber, produced entirely without chemicals and with very little water. The finished fabric retains all of milk’s nutrients and natural proteins, making it antimicrobial, hypo-allergenic, temperature regulating and fully biodegradable.

Organic Cotton

We source our GOTS certified organic cotton from Texas and India. It is grown as a rotational crop, requiring 71% less water than conventional cotton and produced without the use of toxic pesticides, bleaches, dyes and other chemicals.

Recycled Cotton

Developed from 100% recycled fibers from unwanted sweaters, blankets and fabric scraps in Prato, Italy. No additional dyes, water or chemicals are needed.

 Recycled Polyester (rPET)

About recycled polyester (rPET): Production of rPET diverts post-consumer plastic water bottles from landfills, using 2/3 less energy and about 90% less water than production of virgin polyester. No new petroleum is required to produce recycled polyester. Performance, durability and strength are retained.

 American Wool

Wool is long known as the “miracle fiber” - rapidly renewable, biodegradable, antimicrobial and low maintenance. We source our wool from two generational American family farms located in Texas and Massachusetts. Responsible Wool Certified and GOTS Organic standards are observed, although certifications can waiver depending on annual costs to certify.

 Recycled Wool

Developed from 100% recycled fibers from unwanted sweaters, blankets and fabric scraps in Prato, Italy. No additional dyes, water or chemicals are needed.

 Irish Linen

We source our linen from Ireland, where it’s eco and ethically certified by law. Irish linen is grown with no chemicals and very little water. The entire flax plant is used, making it a waste-free crop. Highly durable and fully biodegradable.

Other materials:

We are plastic-free down to the details. Our favorite notions include corozo nut buttons from Ecuador, mother of pearl, brass, and vintage horn.

Natural finishings include beeswax waterproofing and Chitosante, an athletic wear treatment made from shell byproduct.

We embrace undyed goods, and choose reclaimed dyes or color-grown fibers when possible.

Our packaging and hangtags are 100% recyclable and compostable.
